Underwater world

I read that after the Alexander McQuenn's fashion show in Paris for the Spring/Summer season 2012, the chief editor of French „Vogue”, Emmanuelle Alt, fell down on her knees in front of the fashion designer Sarah Burton and in the presence of 200-person public said „Thank you”. I don't know whether it is possible to find a better proof that the collection became the hit of the Paris Fashion Week held one month ago:)
The inspiration to create the collection was the very nature and in particular, the shells, crustaceans and seaweeds. The dresses which consisted of cascades of flounces resembled the interior of pearl or streams of water and the sophisticated laces brought to mind the coral reefs.
There is no doubt that the water theme shall be fashionable during the coming summer. At last, also Karl Lagerfeld is of similar opinion as Burton; his models were showing the clothes during the Chanel fashion show imitating the underwater world. I am curious how this trend will appear in the clothes and accessories in summer collections of big stores?
